Cosmetic Dentistry

A great smile can open doors and make you more attractive. Here are some cosmetic dentistry options to consider to make your teeth look their best:

  • Teeth whitening. Also known as teeth bleaching, this procedure involves lightening the color of teeth that have become stained or discolored over time.
  • Dental veneers. Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain or composite material that are placed over the fronts of teeth to improve their appearance. They can help with issues such as discoloration, gaps, and misalignment.
  • Dental crowns. Also known as caps, crowns are used to cover a damaged or discolored tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. They are often made from materials like porcelain, ceramic, or metal alloys.
  • Dental implants. Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth by surgically placing an artificial tooth root and attaching a crown on top.
  • Bonding. Dental bonding involves applying a tooth-colored resin material to the teeth and then using a special light to bond it to the teeth. This can help improve the appearance of chipped, cracked, discolored, or misshapen teeth.

Same-Day Crowns/Crowns/Caps

Our Highlands Ranch dentist uses Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC®), which consists of computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and a milling machine to create custom ceramic restorative devices. This allows for crowns to be created during your same visit, so you don’t have to return to the office at a later time. This is very convenient for patients, as it means no temporary restorations are required. It is also cost-effective and minimally invasive.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers may seem like futuristic technology, but they have actually been around since 1990. Many dentists incorporate lasers into everyday dental procedures due to their precision and safety. Different types of dental lasers have been created to treat different conditions, with each laser using a different wavelength of light. Lasers are often used for soft tissue shaping, tooth preparation, biopsies, and tumor removal. They result in less discomfort and pain. Some other benefits of laser dentistry include:

  • Faster healing and tissue regeneration.
  • Reduced bleeding during and after treatment.
  • Reduced need for anesthesia.
  • Reduced need for stitches and sutures.
  • Reduced risk of bacterial infections after procedures.

Clear Correct/Clear Aligners/Orthodontics

If you are looking to straighten your teeth, our Highlands Ranch dental office offers various orthodontic procedures to help. Clear Correct is a common choice. This nearly invisible aligning system straightens teeth fast and contains no metal. It consists of a series of custom-made aligning trays. These trays are changed out every several weeks to fit the new tooth configuration. Clear Correct can help with various dental issues, such as overcrowding, underbite, overbite, crossbite, and gaps.

Invisalign is another option that works in a similar manner. It also uses clear trays to straighten teeth quickly. It can also help with the same dental issues. Both these options are comfortable and effective.

Metal braces are still an option if you’d rather straighten your teeth the old-fashioned way. Metal braces are very effective and can handle the most severe straightening issues. They are also more affordable. You can opt for traditional fixed braces. Lingual braces are also an option. These braces consist of custom brackets that are affixed to the back of the teeth.

The Damon system is a good alternative to traditional metal braces. Light wires are initially used to align the teeth, and are replaced with heavier wires as the teeth become straighter. With the Damon System, elastic rings are replaced with tiny sliding doors. This results in less friction and more comfort.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a common type of cosmetic dentistry. This is a simple treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel. It’s an easy way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

While there are a number of ways to whiten teeth, our Highlands Ranch dental office uses a home teeth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. This type of teeth whitening requires two visits.  At the first appointment, impressions will be made of your teeth to fabricate custom plastic trays. At your second appointment, you will try on the trays for proper fit. Adjustments will be made if necessary. You will wear the trays with a special whitening solution either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for several weeks, depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening.

Pediatric Dentistry

The path to healthy teeth starts at a young age. Infants should see the dentist for the first time around their first birthday. The first visit sets the tone for a child’s future attitudes about the dentist, so it’s important to be positive. At the first dental visit, the pediatric dentist and the child will get properly acquainted. The dentist will monitor tooth and jaw development to get an idea of the child’s overall health history. The dentist will also evaluate the health of the existing teeth and gums as well as advise parents on how to implement a good oral care regimen. We are here to answer your questions.
